All knives from Masakage are handmade by master blacksmiths of Takefu's village and hand sharpened by one of Japan's best knife sharpeners, Takayuki Shibata san. When these knives come out of their box, they have an amazing sharpness and will stay sharp for an extremely long time due to Shibata san's masterful technique. Alambika is extremely happy to import and retail Japanese knives (from Takefu village) in Canada. The Shizuku Gyuto knife, as well as our whole kitchen knife collection can be seen and handled in our Montreal store.
blacksmith : Yu Kurosaki is an incredibly talented young blacksmith. He apprenticed with master Hiroshi Hato. His knives are not only super practical, great looking but also demonstrates some of the best traditional Japanese forging technique.
He is still eager to innovate new design and materials to pursue his ideals
Yu Kurosaki SHIZUKU series are crafted out of SG2 (Super Gold 2 or R2) micro carbide powder stainless steel, one of the hardest blade steel in the world, which provides excellent rust resistance and a long-lasting edge as well as its beautifulness.
